Of Ddeokbokki and beanies

Just a quick post.

I went out earlier and braved the streets of Baguio because I wanted to visit the Korean Grocery I spotted the previous time I was here.  For some reason, I thought it was nearby Tiong San in Harrison.  However, after going around and asking around, I realized I must have remembered it wrong.  Good thing it came to me and I set my way to Porta Vaga mall.  The reason why I wanted to visit the Korean grocery was because I’ve been craving to make Rabokki which is Ddeokbokki (spicy rice cakes) with ramen.

Rabokki (made by Kim Junsu of 2PM himself)

And regular Ddeokbokki (source)

But lo and behold, I forgot to list down the ingredients I needed.  I pretty much have a good grasp on what they are but I don’t know what they are in Korean so I won’t be able to ask the store owner if an item is available.  I probably should have brought up that I wanted to make Rabokki, haha!  Anyway, my visit wasn’t a waste though.  I finally have a set of metal chopsticks and spoon! I got it for Php 80 which isn’t so bad.  I just hope it won’t rust easily T-T

Then I made a stop at the palengke (market) near Abanao Square because a friend of mine wanted a beanie that I bought last year.  I couldn’t help but get myself some more too.

And lastly, a Face of the Day!

The look I’m wearing is actually from Pixiwoo’s Angelina Jolie Cat Eye Make Up tutorial.  I am so loving it for an everyday look!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Unfortunately, I had to take down my Cranberry Inspired Look video since I overlooked editing out a “down time” moment (where I stop, rethink and repeat what I had to say).  I thought it was ok but when I reviewed, I just felt like it needed to be re-edited.  So my apologies!

Anyway, I just thought of sharing this with you guys.  The birth of the look actually came when my cousin and I decided I’d make her up.  She’s half Welsh and she looks more Caucasian than Asian.  I thought it’d be fun since I really haven’t done anyone’s makeup with her attributes.  So this is what she looks like:

Pretty girl~

I used BB Cream on her and to our delight, it didn’t turn ashy on her.  I didn’t even let her put on foundation since we were just playing and experimenting anyways.

Et viola! The finished product!

I totally love the peachy pink shade on her lips!  It goes well with her skin tone, I’m jealous!  She has big round eyes and I tried lining them in a way that would make them look more narrow.  I think the line I made was a bit thick than I wanted it to be but I like it nonetheless.  I love her lower lashes, they’re so full!  In the first photo of her, you can see that her brows aren’t the typical box-y ones so I decided to make them box-y and full.  I definitely need more practice in grooming brows but not bad.

So if you guys are interested to know how to do this look, then click here! (:

Don't just shine, SPARKLE!! ✩ [Late Birthday Giveaway!]

thetravelingheels:

Makeup is like painting; one must always start with a clean canvas to come up with a brilliant masterpiece. A lot of people think that having great makeup is the secret of celebrities and models to having beautiful photos but in fact, they won’t look ravishing if they don’t have a clean face to begin with.

image

Being a beauty blogger, I have to test several products and try on countless makeup looks every week. It’s really hard to maintain a clean and pimple-free face given that I’m always in full-makeup during events and I doodle on my face whenever I’m bored. Hence, the vain pictures in this entry. :>

image

I love trying out new looks every chance I get. It takes me about an hour to apply makeup on myself even if I have already memorized the anatomy of my face because my goal is always to look flawless with as LITTLE makeup as I can apply. I think I’d rather step out with zero makeup than with bad makeup. *lol* And when I have pimple/s, I’d rather stay home than put on a thick layer of concealer over it because makeup will only worsen acne problems.

image

Some people assume that I have no skin problems whatsoever because I always look made up but I am struggling with BIG PORES on the nose area. I’m afraid that pimples might pop out after a night of makeup testing-galore especially when it’s my first time to test out a product.

image

That’s why prior to and after applying makeup on my face, I always wash my face squeaky clean with Nivea Visage Sparkling White Acne Oil Control Facial Wash to remove all dirt and oil to avoid my pores from clogging.

image

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been using this product for over 2 weeks now and it has improved my skin a lot.

My face is less oily even after going around the metro for errands and projects. Now I don’t have to worry about getting unwanted guests on my face like zits or pimples after being a makeup guinea pig! Hee :>

(Thanks to Patrick Uy for the photo above.) This was taken after a week of using Nivea Sparkling White Foam and I can see why the product is named that because I look so white and clean, kulang nalang I sparkle like glitters in real life!

**Last week, I celebrated my sweet 16th birthday.(Juust kidding!) I got really sick so I didn’t have the time and energy to conduct an online contest.

So, as a late birthday giveaway, I will be giving one special reader a chance to win a slot to my next MAKEUP WORKSHOP! :D

Annyeong - 2PM & miss A buzz Korea Interactive Game → ibuzzkorea.com

Excuse me but this needs to be shared!

It always amazes me how South Korea never fails to put up attractive tourism campaigns.  A few years back, they produced music videos using the some of the biggest Kpop stars like Super Junior and SNSD (Seoul Song), as well as 2PM (Fly to Seoul)

Now they’ve upped their game and went to a new level.  Annyeong is a beautifully made interactive game where you spend a three day vacation in Seoul with Kpop idols 2PM and miss A.  Again, I can’t help but be emotional and shed some tears because I could have had that experience (minus 2PM and miss A of course hehe).  Also, I’m a sucker for relaxing music and beautiful sceneries especially the latter.

Just a bit of a warning though, you have to have a superb internet connection for this or the experience would be no good.  You can check out this short video just to have a glimpse of what it would be like.

At the end of the game, tell me, what is Annyeong for you?  안녕~
